When life gets busy, it’s easy to forget to set aside some time to take care of yourself. For some, it can be a challenge to figure out what kind of things their body needs to reach its full potential of growth and happiness. Here is a simple self care checklist for you to start taking good care of your body, mind, and soul.
Self Care Checklist
Skin Care
Have a skin care routine every morning, night, or both. The routine can be as simple as exfoliating and moisturizing, or as extensive as dry brushing, exfoliating, washing, and applying serums. Either way, try to make it a habit to take care of your skin at least once a day. Dedicate some time to make your skin feel fresh and beautiful.

Exercise
Get your body moving every day. This is a must on the self care checklist. Find something that will get you out of your seat, like running, walking on the beach, yoga, swimming, dancing, or sports. Think about what you really enjoy doing and go out and do it!
If you haven’t exercised in a while, don’t over do it. You want to create good memories and good feelings while getting back into the habit of exercising. This will help your mind associate exercise with the good feelings, and you’ll be more willing to do it again and again!
Eat
“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”
― Hippocrates
Eat whole healthy food. Everything that you put into your body will reflect through your skin. So be mindful about what you eat. Try making a weekly menu for yourself and plan your meals ahead of time to avoid finding yourself in a hunger binge.
Don’t forget to hydrate your body as well! It’s the most vital thing on this self care checklist, and the most overlooked.
“Your body depends on water to survive. Every cell, tissue, and organ in your body needs water to work properly. For example, your body uses water to maintain its temperature, remove waste, and lubricate your joints. Water is needed for overall good health.”
― Familydoctor.org
Drainage Massage
Who doesn’t like getting massages? I mean, it’s the ultimate go-to self care regimen that people use! But have you heard of the Lymph Drainage Massage? This massage helps promote Lymphatic drainage to remove waste and toxins from the Lymphatic system. If you feel congested or sluggish, you need to add this Lymphatic drainage massage to your self care checklist!

Naps
Taking naps has so many benefits for your body, it decreases anxiety, stress and clears your mind by allowing it to rest. Your naps can be a short as 20 minutes, or as long as an hour depending on how much time you can schedule it into your day.
While some may think that relaxing with a nice book or scrolling through your social media feed will help their body feel at ease, the fact of the matter is that although those things may be relaxing, they do not let your body fully unwind. If your mind and eyes are at a state of constant movement, then you have not achieved a true relaxed body.
If you are crunched for time but would like to implement this step to your self care checklist, try practicing Yoga Nidra. The practice Yoga Nidra is a meditation technique that signals your body to be in a state of total body relaxation while being alert at the same time. Here’s a great article on how to start practicing Yoga Nidra.

At-Home Pampering
You don’t have to spend a pretty penny at a luxurious Spa to make you feel good. The best way to achieve the ultimate spa atmosphere at home is to get yourself the right materials. Try sticking to products that use raw organic ingredients, in order to keep your skin toxin-free and looking it’s best.

Need help finding toxin-free skin care products? SanBe Beauty has a ton of products that are toxin-free, use raw organic ingredients, and are VEGAN! Here are a couple of favorite items that scream spa day, that won’t break the bank!
- Pink Kaolin Clay Mask
- Facial Cream
- Rose Clay Bath
- After Sun Spray
- Masala Chai Loose Leaf Tea
Sometimes it may seem like there is not enough time in the day for an at-home spa treatment, but just know that this step does not need to be more than an hour of your time. Whether it be really early in the morning before you start your day, or late at night after you’ve done all your tasks, make it a point to put this on your self care checklist.
Journaling and Meditation
The best way to take care of your mind is to give it a break from time to time. Start with journaling your thoughts, feelings, tasks, or ideas. What you want to do is basically brain dump everything that is consuming your mind and keeping it from being in a calm state. Once you’ve done that, you will be ready to meditate. Meditation is a great way to put your thoughts on hold for a moment and refocus your energy on self-awareness.
Nature
There is something about being in nature that brings people to a state of calm and happiness. You know the saying, “stop and smell the roses”? Well, let’s take it to the next level, and smell everything that nature had to offer!
Taking time to go outside and bask in the warm sun, smell the crisp air, or listen to the rustling of the trees in the wind, are all things that will increase your quality of life in the most simplest form.
Laughter
“Laughter is the best medicine.” I’m sure we’ve all heard that saying before, and it is so true! The best way to take care of your soul is to laugh. Try watching your favorite funny show (my favorite show to watch is F.R.I.E.N.D.S.), going to a comedy show, or getting together with some friends or family members that you know can bring on the laughter. Make it a point to laugh everyday, you’ll thank yourself for it.

So excited to be included in you list.
I definitely have to try the lymph drainage, I always seem to have issues with them.
I’m so happy you make your products the way you do! Pure quality. The lymph drainage is definitely a game changer! If you do it correctly, you’ll feel all the fluids moving down, and you might get a heat sensation. It’s the best feeling! Let me know how it goes.
